Research Methodology

Defined household questions, multiple AI perspectives, and a dated evidence record provide the foundation of each study.

Start with a specific consumer scenario

Each study examines a defined home improvement question. The topic and buyer needs establish the research scope. A broad brand ranking is not a substitute for a question about a particular project, property, or service requirement.

Participating AI platforms respond to standardized questions. Only usable responses included in the study contribute to the platform denominator. Usable coverage can differ between studies.

Organize recommendations without adding them

Provider names are normalized so recognizable spelling variations do not become separate companies. The research retains recommendation positions and supporting evidence. A passing mention is not automatically a qualifying recommendation.

Index rankings prioritize the number of platforms recommending an entity, then use recorded position information to resolve ties. The study’s own evidence and published ranking rules govern the result.

Publish findings with verification information

Where available, articles include a downloadable study record and a SHA-256 integrity snapshot. The snapshot identifies the source object used for publication. It supports integrity checking rather than proving that every statement is true.

These studies measure AI recommendations. We do not claim hands-on testing, site inspections, contractor background checks, or independent material testing.
